Feeling Better, Happy Day!

Thank you to everyone who was sending up prayers for my Dad. The results of the Angiogram showed that none of his arteries were blocked. We all let out a sigh of relief with that news, but there was still the mystery of what was causing his symptoms. They ran a lot of tests, which all came back negative. The doctors finally came to the conclusion that my Dad was suffering from an infection in his heart. They quickly put him on steroids and antibiotics to clear the infection and they seem to be doing the trick. My Dad called today and he is back to his normal, wonderful self and can't wait to get out of the hospital. Thanks again for all your prayers and thank you God for your healing.

4 O'Clock

Today as I am enjoying my first Canadian holiday since we moved, my Dad will be having surgery. We have been waiting all weekend for this to happen and are both happy and nervous that this time has come. The procedure is called an Angiogram. They will insert a flexible tube through an artery in his groin and will feed all the way up to his heart. Then they eject a dye into this tube so that the arteries in his heart are all lit up. This allows the doctor to see if there is anything blocking the blood flow to his heart. If there is an issue, they may end up fixing it during the procedure. We are thankful for modern technology, but it is still a serious procedure. We appreciate your prayers. Thanks!

Heart Keep Pumping!

Thanks to everyone who is reading this blog and praying for my Dad's health. About two months ago he had his second angioplasty to open up two blocked arteries with stints. Saturday he started having chest pains and shortness of breath and went to the emergency room. They admitted him to the hospital right away and he will be having an angiogram on Monday to try and figure out what is happening with his heart. My Dad's name is Ralph. I would love and covet your prayers for my Dad's body and spirit and our family as we are somewhat scattered accross North America right now. We would all love to be in that hospital room with him. Anyway thanks and I will try and update my blog with his progress.

Fire Fighter in the Flesh

We did not have enough happening in our lives so Daniel decided that he was going to start a new career too! We are very excited to say that Daniel will be starting school on Saturday to become a firefighter and emergency responder. Firefighting is something Dan has always wanted to do so he decided to go for it. Winnipeg has new program called S.M.A.R.T. The schooling will last for about 5 months and will include a trip down to Dallas for two weeks, where he will live and train with firefighters. He will do Internet courses during the week and go to class on Saturdays for the hands on stuff. He does not know how he will react to the medical side of it. Your prayers once again are appreciated. His plan is to work part time while he is going to school.

Getting Settled

Most of the boxes are unpacked now and the internet and cable are all set up-life can begin again! Here in Winnipeg, there are lots of sunny days and everyone is making sure that we feel welcomed and that we have everything we need. We have seen God's faithfulness throughout this move. We made it over the border by the skin of our teeth. God really helped us out there. We did not know if but we were supposed to have the title for our car in our hands at the border and we did not--it was actually packed somewhere in the moving truck. But they let us through and later we found out from the border guards that they have never seen a car get through without showing the title--thank you God.
All of our belongings made it in one piece.
Daniel is working for a landscaping company right now while he figures out what he is going to do next. The plan was to transfer with FedEx but there is a hiring freeze right now. I (Sarah) am still working for my Dad by way of a virtual office. This is a huge blessing because I am not able to work in Canada for at least six months while I wait for my working visa. Without this job I would go crazy so I am sooooooo thankful!

For all of you Roxy fans (Roxy is our kitty) she is doing very well in her new home. She is very excited to be a Canadian now.

APRIL 4TH--MOVING DAY!!!

We hit the road with our moving truck on April 4th. Actually it is more like a moving Semi-truck. It is amazing how much stuff you have when you put it all in boxes!! It took three days to get to Winnipeg. We stopped for two nights along the way.
When we arrived in Winnipeg it was almost midnight on the 6th of April. We found some sleeping bags in the moving truck and laid them out on the carpet for the first night. That was the first time that we had seen the house that we would be renting for the next 6 to 12 months. We feel very lucky that this home is nice and fits all our stuff. We will post some pics as soon as we have some.
